Tarkwa Nsuaem was charged with energy and tension as Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong addressed delegates during his visit to the Western Region, condemning what he described as widespread intimidation tactics ahead of the upcoming internal elections.

Ken Agyapong expressed disappointment at the conduct of some individuals in the constituency, stressing that the executives who genuinely know his contributions to the Western Region had turned up in their numbers. He noted that the region, once a stronghold with 17 parliamentary seats, has now dropped to only two—a decline he blamed on poor leadership decisions.

“The intimidation going on in Tarkwa is too much. I am in the region and I want to see the man who thinks he can stop me. No man born of a woman can stop Ken Ohene Agyapong,” he declared.

He criticized elements within the party for resorting to fear tactics rather than presenting a compelling message to delegates. Ken further noted that threatening to remove names from the party album is a sign of political inexperience.

“If you remove one person from the album, you lose not just that vote—you lose their family and friends. One person alone can cost you 20 votes,” he explained.

He urged delegates to remain calm on the 31st and vote boldly for the candidate the grassroots and Ghanaians at large are calling for. He assured them that after casting his ballot, he would come directly to Tarkwa to monitor proceedings.

Ken Agyapong called on constituency executives and the former MP to “bow their heads in shame” for losing the parliamentary seat, questioning why they now feel emboldened to intimidate delegates.

His message resonated strongly with the grassroots, many of whom applauded his call for courage, accountability, and a return to principled leadership within the NPP.
