Ken Ohene Agyapong, a leading figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has openly questioned what he describes as “selective courage” within the party, arguing that the boldness often displayed during internal contests was absent when the party faced the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the last general election. Speaking during a campaign engagement, Ken Ohene Agyapong cautioned that the next electoral contest with the NDC will be difficult and requires honesty, unity, and firmness. He stressed that the party’s defeat was not due to a lack of capable individuals, but rather a failure to confront intimidation decisively at a critical moment.

Addressing recent internal tensions, Ken Ohene Agyapong dismissed attempts to silence or intimidate him through press conferences and media commentary. He maintained that such actions would not deter his campaign or prevent him from engaging party delegates. According to him, leadership demands openness and courage, not suppression of differing views, especially at a time when the party must reflect and reorganize ahead of future elections.

He emphasized that his campaign has remained respectful, noting that he has not insulted any individual within the party. Instead, he said he is focused on sharing his vision for the NPP and Ghana, aimed at rebuilding confidence, strengthening party structures, and positioning the party for electoral victory. Ken Ohene Agyapong reiterated that internal debate should be seen as a sign of democratic strength rather than division.

Reaffirming his resolve, he stated that no individual or group can stop him from campaigning or speaking the truth as he sees it. He called on party members to prioritize the broader interest of the NPP and the country, arguing that fearless and principled leadership will be essential if the party is to regain power and effectively challenge the NDC in future national elections.
