Koforidua — New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, has strongly denied a viral message circulating on social media that attributes controversial remarks to him. According to the Former Assin Central MP, the statement being shared is entirely fabricated and aimed at creating division within the party.

The viral message claimed that Ken Ohene Agyapong insulted party members over discussions surrounding proxy voting and threatened to “cause chaos” if such measures were introduced. Addressing delegates, he firmly dismissed the allegation, describing it as “false, fabricated, and dangerous propaganda.”

“I woke up one morning to a message suggesting I had insulted our party people and threatened chaos. I want to state clearly that I know nothing about that message,” he said in his address. “They are using my name to tarnish my image and create the impression that Ken Agyapong insults party members. That is completely untrue.”

Ken Ohene Agyapong urged party faithful to rise above what he described as “dirty politics,” insisting that such tactics threaten the unity and strength of the NPP. He emphasized that internal attacks and misinformation only weaken the party ahead of the crucial 2028 elections.

“Let us stop the propaganda. It will not help us. We have moved past this kind of politics,” he appealed. “I have listened to your advice because many of you prefer that I stay calm when lies are spread about me. Even when I issue disclaimers, not everyone sees them. That is why I am pleading with delegates: do not allow propaganda to divide us.”

He further reiterated his commitment to the party and reminded delegates of what he believes is necessary for victory in 2028.

“The NPP needs unity, truth, and a leader with the courage to secure victory. With humility, I believe that the person who can win power for the NPP in 2028 is me, Ken Ohene Agyapong.”

The message forms part of his broader engagements with delegates in the Eastern Region, where he has been emphasizing industrialisation, job creation, and clean internal politics as essential pillars for rebuilding national and party confidence.
