The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that it will maintain its bottom-up approach in the conduct of its upcoming internal elections.
Addressing a press briefing at the party’s headquarters on Wednesday, February 18, the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, outlined the roadmap for the exercise, indicating that the entire process will span six months — from the polling station level to the election of national executives.
According to him, the process will commence on April 20, 2026, with the opening of nominations for polling station positions and will climax with the election of national executive officers from September 18 to 20, 2026.
“The elections of our polling station executives will be held from May 10 to May 16, 2026. When we are done with the polling station elections, we will move straight to the electoral area executive committee elections, which will take place from June 10 to June 15, 2026.
“The election of constituency officers will be held from July 11 to July 12, 2026. After that, we will move on to the chapter and external branch elections.
“For the chapter elections, the opening and closing of nominations, vetting, appeals, elections, data entry, and validation of the album are expected to take place within the period of June 20 to July 19, 2026.
“After that, we will move to the mother of all elections — the national elections — which shall be held between September 18 and September 20, 2026,” he said.
